Available online and in person (London, N1)

Hi there, I’m LJ and I offer both online and in person counselling (Islington, London).

I am queer, trans and non-binary and most of my experience is with working with others who are trans, non-binary or questioning their gender. I think there can be huge potential therapeutic in working with a counsellor form within our own community. Having said this I have experience working with those outside my community and am more than happy to work with anyone of any identity. The most important thing is that we feel like a good ‘fit’ for one another.

Having previously studied psychology, I am currently undertaking a research based masters at the Metanoia Institute. I am a trainee member of the UKCP and am what they consider an ‘advanced trainee’. I follow the ethical guidelines of both Metanoia and UKCP and am committed to an ethical and anti-discriminatory practice.

(NB: As an advanced trainee psychotherapist I have had more training and experience than many newly qualified counsellors).

If you are here is it likely you are experiencing some distress or unease in your life which you are looking to change. It can be a daunting process deciding to start therapy and then choosing a therapist. I encourage you to pay attention to which profiles/therapists you feel drawn to. There is huge therapeutic potential in the relationship between counsellor and client and so it is important that the counsellor you chose feels like a ‘good fit’ for you.

In my practice my primary goal is for you to feel heard and understood. I aim to create a space where you feel free to explore anything and everything you need to, away from judgement. At the core of my practice in a deep trust in you, to know what is best for yourself and so I will be alongside you.
